We went bowling for our Family Home Evening activity the afternoon of Martin Luther King, Jr. day. We didn't use the bumpers, at all this time, for the little kids. Kyle surprised us by beating everyone but Dad. Josh inherited his Mom's big thumb knuckles and struggled with it getting stuck in the ball. He took the beating from his little brother "fairly" well.
Caleb thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. He kept us on track and made sure everyone was ready for their turn. We purchased their family deal and got bread sticks, pizza, soda and a game for a great price. The food was surprisingly delicious
Blake helped me make chocolate brownies for a treat. (Kitchen time with my kids is one of my favorite things!) He loved stirring and told me, "I'm a witch. Hee hee Hee." His witch's cackle was adorable.
Last Monday, we went to BYU's Bean Museum. The renovation keeps getting better and better. They still had our favorite displays: the liger, bison, lions, and bugs. They have a new section with a kid play area and interactive games.
Blake was quite nervous when the stuffed Kodiak bear kept growling at him. It's hard to explain an audio track to a 3 year old standing beneath an enormous bear with his claws out. As long as Josh or Mom held his hand, he was fine. We got ice cream from the creamery as our treat.
Katherine has had an obsession with bison since we went to Yellowstone a few years ago. It's a little odd but she hasn't changed her opinion in years. (I suspect she likes the attention she gets from not being like a typical girl. It's the same thing with wearing Warriors and Giants sports gear.)
We celebrated Jeff's birthday. He got some clothes, a belt, a generic Yeti cup, and some relaxing patio chairs
We had cake and ice cream that night with Brain Bangerter and his 3 boys. Blake, Caleb, and Noah helped Jeff blow out his candles.
