Happy 30th Risae (pictures coming)

Friday the 18th was my 30th birthday. I was planning on a nice dinner at my favorite restaurant Ottavio's and then out to a movie. When we arrived at the restaurant our hostess led us into a huge room and I thought, "Wow, I don't want to sit in here there are no small tables." I turned and saw my college friend John Doyle and his wife and he said, "Surprise!!" I looked around and saw two of my childhood friends Sharman and Emily and their husbands and I then realized it was a party for me. I could not believe it. I have never had a surprise party thrown for me before and Jeff said I mentioned that to him a year ago. What a husband!!!! He really is not good at keeping secrets but he did very well. I had no freaking clue. Later my parents showed up with 3o+ balloons. Then our neighbors who were supposed to be babysitting our kids came with our children in tow, closely followed by Chad and Jami Ahlmer from college. I was serenaded by an accordion playing musician and sung Happy Birthday in Italian. I spent the entire night in shock. I cannot remember having any real conversations, my mind was a marshmellow. Thanks to all who celebrated with me. It sure made turning 30 easier because I had my best friends about me and I loved every minute of it.
Thanks to Jeff (my one and only Awesome Man!) for planning the best night ever!

Easter

This is not an Easter photo but I had to include it. Kyle came to me and asked what was the name of the dinosaur with the big horn on the back of his head. I told him I thought it was a Parasaurolophus. He said, "Mom, come look at my Parasaurolophus ant." I couldn't believe his imagination. I went and got the dinosaur from their animal box and took the picture. We are going on 2 straight years of Kyle constantly-and we mean CONSTANTLY-building amazing ship after amazing ship with his legos. Do you think he'll be a structural engineer? He never ceases to amaze us.

Here's the Easter photos. Of course I had to pick these from the library of 50 Easter photos. I wanted to play the games I played as a child with my kids. Here we are at the start of the egg rolling race. Rules=you can only use your nose to push the egg to the finish line.

Our friend Paul was throwing a small football down the hall at these targets.
Katherine was excited to get bubbles!
The boys made good use of the punching balls.
Josh was trying to catch the eggs with his shirt like you do when you play waterballon toss.
